Around the world, the Deaf remain among the last to hear the good news about Jesus and his love. Not one of the 200+ sign languages used around the world has a complete Bible. In South Africa, the Deaf remain the largest people group still without a Bible.
From Wycliffe Global Alliance:
Starting in January 2013, a team of people selected from among users of South African Sign Language will undergo training in translation principles at DOOR’s training centre near Nairobi, Kenya. The team will be assisted in their training and in subsequent translation work by Jim Dowsett, a member of Wycliffe USA assigned to work as a translation consultant with DOOR.
