Check IT Out

The Wycliffe Centre, near High Wycombe, date in 2011 to be confirmed

Bible translation is all about partnership. At every stage of the partnership, computers and IT are involved to some extent, whether that is through email and other forms of online communication, linguistic and translation software, web publishing or any number of other functions.

All of these things make IT and computing skills a crucial factor in the Bible translation movement, the lack of which can grind translation projects to a halt.

Take one day at the Wycliffe Centre to explore the various IT and computing roles that are part of Bible translation, and see whether you could be part of the translation team.

There will be presentations from Wycliffe staff about the various jobs they do, both in the UK and overseas, as well as the chance to chat with the staff to have your questions answered.

For more information about the day, please read the Check IT Out information sheet (pdf, 685KB)

You may like to combine the event with the Window on Wycliffe course the preceding week, which finishes on the Saturday morning. If so, please register for both courses separately and we'll make a note that you will be here for all 6 days.

After you register for the Check IT Out event we'll send you a short questionnaire so that we can try and tailor the event to your interests and hopefully answer any questions that you may have.
