£156,203 out of £1,000,000 target
For 1 in 5 people worldwide, God’s words are still locked in a language they can’t understand. For them, the life-changing truth of the Bible is out of reach – God’s words cannot speak to their heart.

That’s where you can make a difference.

Right now, you have a special opportunity. Any gift you can give between now and Christmas will be doubled to help unlock God’s word for more people – as long as it arrives before 24 December.

Every £1 becomes £2 until together we reach £1 million – our most ambitious target ever!

This means your gift of:

  • £30 becomes £60
  • £60 becomes £120

Thanks to the generosity of Christians like you who understand the life-changing power of God’s word, Bible translation is progressing faster than ever before. But millions of people are still waiting to have a Bible in the language that speaks to their heart – something that you and I can take for granted.

Your donation today will be doubled and put to work straight away to help Bible translators like Donatus. ‘Most of our people don’t really understand the Bible in other languages,’ says Donatus, a Nteng speaker from a remote part of Nigeria.

That’s why he stepped forward to train as a Bible translator and change the future for his children. Surrounded by books, Donatus works late into the night on his laptop. You see, he only has the book of Jonah and a few other Bible verses in his language. Can you imagine that? That means no Gospels, no Psalms, and no Christmas story.

Donatus longs to read the nativity story to his nine-year-old daughter, Enwul. But it doesn’t exist in their language yet.

Instead, Enwul will spend another year missing out on more than a story familiar to you and me – she is also missing out on the beginning of her own, deeper understanding of who Jesus truly is.

How many more Christmases should she miss out?

‘I know that sharing the story of the birth of Jesus with my daughter in our language would bring us joy and comfort,’ says Donatus.

You can help unlock God’s word for them – and for the millions of other people worldwide who are still waiting for the Bible in their language.

No-one should be excluded from the good news of the Bible. The longer we wait, the greater the number of children who will grow up without being able to know Jesus through the Bible.

Your support is vital for Bible translators like Donatus, who are desperate to unlock God’s word for over 100 million people around the world.

The next step is to raise £1 million – our biggest target ever – to have the biggest impact. To help make this possible, a group of Wycliffe supporters is offering to double any donation you give before Christmas, until we reach that target together.

Imagine the smile on Donatus’ face as he tucks Enwul in at night, finally able to read her the Christmas story in their own language. Imagine the joy in her eyes as she hears it clearly for the first time.

Please consider a gift today – which will be doubled – to help make sure that children like Enwul don’t miss out on the good news of Jesus.
