Honour the life of someone you love

‘The memory of the righteous will be a blessing’ – Proverbs 10:7 ESV

Giving in memory is a beautiful way to celebrate the life and faith of someone you love. We are always deeply touched when friends and family choose to remember a loved one by donating to Wycliffe.

When you give a gift in memory, you are making a lasting difference, helping people worldwide to experience the Bible in their own languages – transforming the lives of those without God’s word, for generations to come.

‘I had the privilege of meeting Kaleb in Togo in 2024, who was part of the Ifè team translating the Bible for his community. I was so inspired by his dedication to the work, his love for Jesus, and his joy in sharing God’s word in his own language with his children. After Kaleb passed, giving a gift in memory felt like the right thing to do to honour him.’ – Kat (Wycliffe supporter)

Funeral collections

Requesting donations in lieu of flowers at a loved one’s funeral, or thanksgiving service, is a customary, thoughtful way to honour your loved one’s memory – supporting a cause they cherished during their life. Most funeral directors are happy to manage this collection of gifts for you and to forward them to us.

‘This donation is in memory of our friend, who passed away and was a keen supporter of the significant work of Wycliffe Bible Translators.’ – Anonymous supporter

Create a tribute page

An online tribute page offers a meaningful way for family and friends to unite in paying their respects. It’s a place where you can share treasured photos and memories, while also raising funds for Bible translation. Websites such as MuchLoved make it very simple to create a dedicated memorial page. If you would like help or advice with this, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you so much for considering Wycliffe during this time. Every gift given in memory contributes to the fastest progress in the history of Bible translation. Ensuring that everyone, everywhere can finally read God’s word in the language that speaks directly to their heart.

If you have any questions or would like to speak to someone in our team about giving in memory, we are here to support you in a friendly and confidential way. Please email legacy@wycliffe.org.uk or call 01865 415874.
