Come and join us as we Walk for the Word around the village of Wrenbury on Saturday 21 June, starting at 10.30am.

Take in some of the beautiful locations and views around the Shropshire Union Canal and surrounding fields of Wrenbury, while raising funds for the crucial work of Bible translation. At the same time we’ll have some fun and fellowship as a church community.

There will be options as to how far you walk, from under a mile, up to 5.25 miles. The walk includes a short wheelchair-friendly loop. Most of the optional loops are suitable for trainers, though if it rains heavily in the days running up to the event, walking shoes might be preferable.

The walk will finish with some refreshments at either a local house or at Berries coffee shop, and with optional refreshment stops at Canalside Nurseries and/or the Dusty Miller.

The aim is to have some good fellowship together, and at the same time raise some funds for the work of Bible translation and Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Taking part

You are very welcome just to turn up on the day. However, if you are able to, please do let Jeremy know that you are coming by emailing him on jeremyweightman@yahoo.co.uk so he can get some idea of numbers.

Giving page

We would love everyone who is doing the walk to contribute something to help fund work to translate the Bible for the 1 in 5 who do not have the Bible in their own language. We would welcome donations – however big or small – from walkers and anyone else who would like to support this vital part of world mission.

To give, visit the general JustGiving page here. (Note that when you give, if you do not want to give the default tip to JustGiving, make sure you that on the Your donation summary page you click on Enter custom amount and enter 0.)

Travel to Wrenbury

Depending on numbers, it would be good to share cars to get to Wrenbury where possible.

There is always the train too (09:26 from Nantwich gets into Wrenbury at 09:33).

Meeting points and parking

The main meeting point will be the car park at the village hall on Nantwich Road (What3Words: shed.alongside.nitrogen).

Possible refreshment venues

A local house or Berries coffee shop will be the post-walk venue for refreshments.

On the route there are refreshment stops at Wrenbury village stores, the Dusty Miller pub, and Canalside Nurseries coffee shop.
