Chris Winkler

Chris is passionate about the difference that Bible translation makes in lives and churches all around the world.

Chris says: ‘Bible translation is foundational to evangelism, discipleship and church planting – key ministries of the global Church to building God’s Kingdom. There is no other cause in which I’d have rather spent the last two decades of ministry serving.’

Chris joined Wycliffe in 2005 and has carried leadership roles across the Bible translation movement since that time. In Wycliffe USA, he has served both as Chief of Staff and also for more than nine years as the Vice President for Advancement and Church Relations. He has also served as Operations Director for SIL Nigeria (a Wycliffe strategic partner organisation).

Chris is married to Christie and they have three children – Judah, Jovelle and Joisah – whom they home educate. They enjoy books, board games and exploring the great outdoors. Whilst they are American, they currently reside in the beautiful city of Oxford and attend a city centre church.

Simon Austen

Simon is passionate about the vital role that the Bible plays in bringing people to Jesus and in enabling God’s people to become more like Jesus.

Simon says: ‘I am convinced that the Bible runs to the heart of God’s purposes for the world. He powerfully brings people to him and grows his people to be more like Jesus, as his word is made known and his Spirit works. Having seen such spiritual transformation in the lives of many people, I long for others to have that same life-changing opportunity. Having the Bible in a language that people can understand is the bedrock on which all such hopes are built.’

Simon has been involved in Bible ministry for many years, serving as a church pastor in Carlisle and more recently as Rector of St Leonard’s Church in Exeter. Prior to these roles he worked for some time as an assistant minister and as a school chaplain in Buckinghamshire. He is married to Fiona, a harpist and pianist, and has three grown-up children.

Give the Word Lead

Katyana Malcolm

Katyana is passionate about encouraging joyful and faithful generosity in our wonderful supporters.

Katyana says: ‘What an amazing opportunity we have to stand alongside our brothers and sisters around the world as they faithfully work to bring God’s word to everyone in their own language. I love to invite people to join Give the Word and celebrate the impact of their giving.’

Katyana started at Wycliffe in the Supporter Care Team and now leads our regular giving programme Give the Word. Before joining Wycliffe, she worked for a charity in London, helping young people with their schooling. Katyana is part of a growing church in Oxford.

Cameron Kennedy

Cameron is passionate about connecting supporters of Wycliffe with the impact their giving and praying is having all around the world.

Cameron says: ‘I listen to my audio Bible every morning whilst getting ready for my day, but I know so many people still don’t have access to the Bible in a language that they fully understand. Without God’s word and guidance I would be lost and so it is important to me that all people have the opportunity to know Jesus through the Bible in a language that speaks to them best.’

Cameron joined Wycliffe in 2024, having worked in Customer Services for a number of years prior, alongside voluntary roles at her local Church. She moved to Oxford, with her husband Matthew, to start her role at Wycliffe, where she is able to use her previous experience of helping customers alongside her passion to see lives transformed across the world through the Bible. 

Her favourite part of her job is speaking to supporters on the phone, learning through their experiences, and being inspired by their zeal for the work of Bible translation.

Mark Andrews

Mark is passionate about working alongside Wycliffe’s generous supporters as they make such a difference through their giving and praying.

Mark says: ‘I want to help supporters experience joy in seeing lives transformed by knowing Jesus through God’s word, which is “living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.”’ (Hebrews 4:12)

Mark worked in the computer industry for 38 years, before joining Wycliffe so he could be involved in a mission central to his life. Mark and his wife have three children, and they are members of a church in Thame.

Matt Smith

Matt is passionate about enabling supporters to give to the causes closest to their heart and to become equipped to partner in mission for generations to come.

Matt says: ‘Reaching unreached people with the good news of Jesus and equipping the local church worldwide is something that I am passionate about. I love connecting with others who share this passion and developing new opportunities with them to see mission thrive and grow.’

Matt works to develop key relationships and he also manages the growing legacy programme for Wycliffe. Before joining Wycliffe, Matt worked in fundraising for another Christian charity. 

Matt and his wife have a young daughter. He and his family are part of a church in Cardiff.

Lowri Turner

Lowri is passionate about people experiencing the joy of reading the Bible in their  own languages. 

Lowri says: ‘The Bible tells us that God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). I know how my life has been illuminated through reading the Bible, and it is such a pleasure to have a front row seat as Wycliffe works to give others that same opportunity. As a first-language Welsh speaker, I’ve experienced the deep joy of reading the Bible in the language I know best, and I love seeing others do the same’. 

Lowri is married to Simeon, and they live in Bolton with their two young daughters. Simeon is a Minister and Lowri is heavily involved in church life. Lowri has worked for almost 20 years for both Christian and non-faith-based charities. She is passionate about connecting enthusiastic donors with a cause that speaks to their hearts.

Jess Dye

Jess is passionate about ensuring supporters of Bible translation are being well cared for. Enabling more people to know Jesus through the Bible starts with caring for our supporters, who are faithfully supporting the translation work. Being able to provide this care brings her great joy.

Jess says: ‘I love being able to help others in whatever their need may be. One of my favourite things about working at Wycliffe is hearing the testimonies of our supporters about how God has been faithful, and also praying with them.’

Before joining Wycliffe, Jess studied Theology and Worship at the London School of Theology, where she was the student mission secretary for a year, helping students get involved and learn more about mission. Jess is part of a church in Oxford.

Regional Manager for Scotland

Ruth McCaig

Ruth is passionate about serving the local church and encouraging churches in Scotland to be part of the worldwide ministry of Bible translation.

Ruth says: ‘I love the local church and can’t imagine churches trying to fulfil the Great Commission without access to God’s word.’

Ruth studied theology at Aberdeen University before becoming a secondary school teacher. She also worked as a youth worker in Stirling for a number of years. Before joining Wycliffe, Ruth worked as the Scotland manager for a different mission organisation. 

Ruth has two children, and her husband serves as the pastor of a church in Peterhead.
