Leaving a gift in your Will to Wycliffe
While many supporters decide to leave a gift in their Will to Wycliffe, there’s no obligation to do so when you use any of our free services – but if you do, it’ll help us to continue to increase Bible translation work around the world. It can also reduce the inheritance tax your loved ones pay on what you leave for them. Thank you so much for considering Wycliffe in your Will.
Why write or update your Will?
Everybody should have a Will in place to provide for their loved ones after they have gone and to leave gifts to the causes they care most about.
Having a Will in place is also a form of stewardship, as it ensures that your loved ones know your wishes and are advised on how you wish your estate to be distributed, when you’re gone.
Creating a Will can cost around £150–300 for a simple Will and may cost even more for a complicated one. At Wycliffe we always recommend that when writing your Will, you contact a legal professional to ensure that your wishes are made clear and legal.
Other ways to write or amend your Will
Amending an existing Will:
If you have an existing Will but wish to leave a gift to Wycliffe, you can amend your Will at minimal cost. Simply download, print and complete this form and hand it to your solicitor to attach to your Will.
Please note that this may incur a small charge from a solicitor and that we recommend that you seek your solicitor’s advice when using a codicil amendment form.
Traditional Will writing
If you’d prefer to find a solicitor near your location, to write or update your Will, you can search for a local one through the Law Society’s directory by clicking here.
We have partnered with a solicitor firm (Kingsway Legal) offering a 10% discount to you as a Wycliffe supporter, for a paid Will. They will also make a 10% donation to Wycliffe on completion. If you would like details of this service please email: legacy@wycliffe.org.uk.
