The community
People in Wuldor have grown up knowing conflict and famine – enduring hardship as part of life. A country of diverse cultures and strong traditions, the rhythm of the year is marked by wet and dry seasons. These seasons guide crop planting for farming communities and tell herders when to move their cattle to new pastures. Most people have no access to God’s word in their heart language.
The need
Years of violence, millions of refugees and a life that seems hopeless. That’s the reality for people in this scarred African nation. But with your help, there is a chance of hope. ‘God is doing remarkable things to show himself to the people who are unreached… We want to see church planting, a disciple-making movement, and the Bible being translated into the heart language of the people. That is our vision,’ says Timothy.
The programme
The goal is to reach nine of the country’s language groups – 580,000 people – with the Bible’s message of hope. The programme will train and equip local translators to unlock God’s life-changing words for their own people. Having the Bible in their language will empower church growth, guide new leaders and enable the good news of Jesus to reach war-torn communities.
