Hugh Stacey

Hugh is passionate about people being able to understand and be changed through reading the Bible for themselves.

Hugh says: ‘During a mission trip, when reading 1 John 4:18 – “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” – I discovered how fear was limiting the way I related to others. This discovery changed the way I viewed risk and living for Christ. This shaped a lot of the decisions I have made throughout my adult life and I believe that all believers should be able to have life-changing encounters with God through independent Bible study—and Bible translation is how to make that a reality.’

Before joining Wycliffe, Hugh worked with many Christian children’s charities in the US and Honduras. During the nine years spent working in Honduras, he met his wife, Cinthia, and they had their daughter, Letty.

Tabitha Doey

Tabitha is passionate about the difference that having the Bible in people’s languages makes to individual lives and whole communities.

Tabitha says: ‘I love that when people from minority-language communities find out that God can speak to them in their own language, their lives are transformed!’

Tabitha studied linguistics and since then has worked as an archivist, taught English to speakers of other languages, and spent time working for the London Transport Museum.

Tabitha and her husband belong to a church in Swansea.

Paul Moores

Paul is passionate about seeing the truth of the Bible placed into everyone’s hands, so that they too can know the joy of freedom in God.

Paul says: ‘Throughout my Christian life I have found John 8:32 – “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free” – to be very real. Through my work with Wycliffe I love being part of a really “sharp end” gospel mission across the nations.’

Paul’s faith story started as a young teenager when he began to attend the Salvation Army with his grandmother, and then he was part of a thriving Pentecostal church in Greater Manchester. One Sunday evening in that church Paul understood how much God loved him for the first time and he accepted Jesus as his saviour.

Paul and his wife Lou served God for a time in Kenya in the 1980s and then went on to full-time church leadership within the New Frontiers family of churches. Before Wycliffe, Paul worked in church relations at The Leprosy Mission.

Paul’s other passions in life after Jesus and his family are Manchester City Football Club (he was taken to his first game aged 5 by his dad) and attending live music events.

Ricky Ferguson

Ricky is passionate about engaging churches across Ireland with the Bible and also in worldwide mission.

Ricky says: ‘I’m driven in my work by the thought: how are people and churches to grow in faith, love and service for Christ if they don’t have access to the word of God in a language they truly understand?’

Before joining Wycliffe, Ricky studied at Belfast Bible College and worked at Ards Evangelical Bookshop. Ricky is originally from the Northwest of Ireland, but now lives with his wife and three children outside Belfast. Ricky serves as an elder in his local church.
